Why should I nominate my product for an Edison Award?
The Edison Award brings a unique distinction to your product or service by recognizing all of the intellectual capital, research, planning, engineering, design, strategy and marketing that has gone into making your product or service a success. Who may make an Edison Award nomination?
Any individual, inventor, innovator, team or company involved in product or service innovation may make a nomination for any category of the Edison Award. Marketing professionals and agencies may make nominations on behalf of their innovative clients.
What are the criteria for evaluating an Edison Award nomination?

How does the Edison Green Award differ from the other categories of the Edison Award?
The Edison Green Award recognizes an organization's commitment to developing sustainable solutions and Green business models. The Edison Award is focused on the product or service and the team responsible for its development, while the Edison Green Award is given to an organization as a whole.
What do I have to do in order to make a nomination?
Once nominations are opened (Fall 2015), complete a nomination form and submit it, along with the appropriate entry fee, before the deadline. You will receive an acknowledgement when we receive your nomination.
Are there any fees involved?
Yes, there is a one-time entry fee (see Nominations for details), which will be used to defray the expenses of the judging and administrative processes involved in awarding the Edison Awards. A portion of your nomination fee will be donated to the Edison Universe, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to fostering future innovators in the K-12 and community college levels.
What is the judging process, and who is involved?
The Edison Awards Steering Committee and a cadre of ad hoc industry experts will review all nominations and develop a list of Finalists within each of the Edison Award categories and for the Edison Green Award. This list of Finalists will then be submitted to a panel of more than 3,000 judges, comprised of senior business executives and academics who will cast their ballots for the Gold, Silver and Bronze winners.
When are the winners announced?
The winners of the Edison Awards and Edison Green Awards are kept strictly confidential and will be announced at the Edison Award Gala in late April. All nominees, finalists and other interested parties are invited to attend the two-day networking event, which includes the popular Meet the Innovators Forum and Innovators' Showcase exhibits as well as the black-tie Gala evening.
What happens if our nomination is a winner?
If you win an Edison Award you have the freedom to publicize the great honor. We will provide a template press release or you can write your own. Winners may leverage the Edison Award winning seal and participate in our customized marketing plan that includes product sampling, social media, product reviews, morning show pitches and national media outreach.
Can we order additional awards for our winning team?
Winners may order additional awards from our partner, U.S. Patent Services, by visiting our Ordering page and following the link to their website.
