Your nomination will require a few paragraphs of text and one image (.jpg or .gif, less than 1.5MB).  Although optional, a link to video content relating to your product or service is also welcomed (see “Media” below).

Please provide the correct product/service name, exactly as it has been registered, trademarked or licensed; we are unable to make changes to names once they are officially submitted.  

To qualify for consideration for the 2011 Edison Best New Product Award, your product or service must have been launched between July 1, 2009 and December 10, 2010.  The 2011 Edison Best New Product Award nominations close on December 10, 2010.

Please also note that if your nomination is among our Award finalists, our partners, the Discovery Channel and Science Channel, may contact you to determine your interest in being included in a short video segment for use on a future network program. This segment could focus on the story and process behind developing and launching your successful new product, service or initiative.

In addition, BzzAgent, also partners of the Edison Awards, will offer our finalists the opportunity to participate in a digital couponing campaign, a BzzAgent sampling campaign, and other word-of-mouth brand-development/sales generating activities.

Fees Your nomination form must be accompanied by the nomination fee, as follows:
Corporate: $450
Non-Profit/Independent Inventor: $200

Organization List the name of the Organization that launched the product or service.
Company Web site address (www.yourcompany.com)

Product or Service Please provide the correct product/service name, exactly as it has been registered, trademarked or licensed; we are unable to make changes to names once they are officially submitted.

Media Please include one image of your product/service. This should be a .jpg or .gif file (smaller than 1.5MB) that may be used in the Edison Awards program, promotional materials and judging. We also encourage you to provide a link to video content relating to your product or service (optional).
Primary Contact Information Provide the name of the individual who will serve as the main contact for questions related to the product or service and event promotions, and who will be available to connect the Edison Awards to individuals in the organization who are involved with the development process.

Judging Criteria Please describe how the product/service fulfills each of the five Edison Best New Products judging criteria listed below. Use 150 words or less for each of the five judging criteria.
  1. Marketplace innovation • How is the strategy and positioning of your product/service innovative? How did you creatively use marketing techniques (advertising, sales promotion, social media) in introducing your product/service to consumers?

Please provide sales data, distribution data, user penetration statistics, consumer preference data, or other performance-related metrics which indicate the success path of your product/service.

Please indicate if your product/service has successfully filed for a patent, received a patent, or possesses intellectual property that is protected in some way. Competencies

Part of what made Edison a successful innovator was the culture that he developed in his organizations to ignite and sustain innovation. Edison’s Five Competencies of Innovation represent a core set of tools Edison used to accomplish this.

We are interested in understanding how your organization cultivated innovation practices which mirror those that Edison used.

Contributors Like Thomas Edison's team approach to innovation, the Edison Award recognizes and honors the entire team involved with the design, development, manufacturing, marketing, promotion and selling process.
