2018 Edison Awards Achievement Honoree, Marillyn A. Hewson is Chairman, President and Chief Executive Offer of  Lockheed Martin Corporation and says for more than 100 years, innovation has been in the lifeblood of Lockheed Martin and believes her company’s ties run deep with Thomas Edison.

“And we believe, as did Thomas Edison, that human ingenuity & transformative technologies can solve the world’s greatest challenges.” Lockheed Martin continues to honor the forward thinking ideals of Thomas Edison as they help the future arrive including the NASA’s recent ventures to Mars. NASA’s Insight lander was built by Lockheed Martin Space Systems facility in Denver and delivered to Vandenberg Airfare base in California on February 28, and will probe the deep interior of the Red Planet to gain a better understanding of the processes that have shaped rocky planets such as Mars and Earth.

Hewson’s vision over the past 30 years has help transform Lockheed Martin into an innovation leader. “Innovation is the theme across our company. We are looking beyond how we can help our customer’s today, to problems they may not even know they have yet.”

Hewson will be honored April 11th in New York during the annual Edison Awards Gala held at the historic Capitale.
